Mobile Phones & Accessories

India's mobile phone manufacturing has moved fast. Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and a growing list of domestic brands now assemble smartphones here - the PLI scheme for mobile phones attracted over $2.7 billion in incentives and pushed India's mobile phone exports from under $500 million in FY2019 to over $15 billion in FY2024-25. Feature phones, budget smartphones, and mid-range devices are manufactured and exported from factories in Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka, supplying buyers across Africa, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia. Running alongside the devices: phone cases and covers, chargers, power banks, earphones and headphones, screen protectors, memory cards, mobile holders and mounts, and spare parts - all manufactured and exported from India at scale.

Accessories are where most international buyers on this platform engage with Indian suppliers. Phone cases and covers - TPU, silicone, leather, hard shell - come out of manufacturers in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Noida for private label retail brands, online marketplace sellers, and mobile retail chains globally. Power banks in the 10,000-20,000mAh range are a consistent export to buyers in Africa and South Asia. Earphones and headphones, wired and TWS, go to budget and mid-market retail buyers across the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia. Mobile spare parts - screens, batteries, charging ports, flex cables - export to repair markets in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, where third-party repair is a much bigger industry than in Western markets.

CE marking and RoHS compliance cover EU market access for most products here. BIS certification is mandatory for chargers, power banks, and phones sold in India and increasingly referenced by other regulators. For smartphones and feature phones, destination-country type approval and frequency band compatibility are non-negotiable - different markets run different 4G and 5G bands, and a device certified for one region may simply not work in another. Memory cards need compatibility specs confirmed for the target device ecosystem. Check certifications on supplier profiles, use the enquiry function to specify frequency bands, device compatibility, and private label requirements, and get samples before committing to bulk accessory orders.
