India's auto component industry exported $22.9 billion worth of parts in FY2024-25 - and the US, Europe, and Asia are buying in volume. Drive transmission systems, engine components, braking systems, suspension parts, body and chassis, electrical systems, lighting, filters, automotive glass, tires: Indian manufacturers supply across the full parts spectrum, to both OEM programmes and the global aftermarket. The sector has posted a 14% CAGR since FY2020 and now exports over 28% of its total production annually.

What's changed in the last few years is where the orders are coming from. Global OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers are diversifying away from single-country sourcing - and India keeps coming up as the answer. A BCG survey of over 40 Chief Procurement Officers found that 80% are open to expanding procurement from India. Manufacturing costs run 10-25% lower than Europe and Latin America. As the world's second-largest steel producer, India also has a stable supply of the raw material that underpins most of what gets made here.

The suppliers in this category cover the full range of what the site lists - passenger cars, commercial vehicles, electric vehicles, motorcycles, batteries, tires, braking systems, exhaust, transmissions, filters, lighting, automotive glass, car audio, navigation, seats, body parts, engine components, suspension, and steering. Manufacturing clusters in Pune, Chennai, Gurugram, and Faridabad handle most of the volume, with Pune alone accounting for a significant share of precision component exports to Germany and the US.

EV components are a growing part of this catalogue. India's domestic EV market is expanding fast and that's pulling component suppliers up the value chain - battery packs, wiring harnesses, and motor parts are increasingly available from Indian exporters alongside the traditional ICE parts catalogue.
